Screen-Printing Workshops

I have been humbled & overwhelmed by your emails requesting new screen-printing class dates. Thus, you may now book for either March or March workshops. Choose from 1-Day class (Basic) or 2-Days (Printing Yardage).

All classes are personally taught by me (Thea Samios) with a maximum of 6 persons per class to ensure personal attention.

1 Day Class is $330 & 2 Day Class is $590. Your fee covers tuition, fabric, inks, equipment used, biscuits and caffeine plus on-going support! 2 Day class place is secured with $330 deposit with balance due 2 weeks before class date.

*Cancellations with full refunds will only be accepted 1 week prior to the class unless a replacement is found for your place after that date.

Workshop runs from 9.30 am - 3.30 pm on both days.

Day 1: An Introduction to Screen-Printing

You will learn how to print like a pro and we will cover the following:

How to cut a stencil for screen-printing - using your own designs
Pressure and angle matter
Which inks and mesh size to use for best results
How to correctly wash your screen
Different types of film positives you can create for screen exposure
List of suppliers provided

Optional Day 2: Screen-Printing Yardage (with a partner)

We are the only studio in Brisbane that screen-prints fabrics in repeat. Using the traditional method of 2 people printing together with large screens. This is a rare opportunity for you to learn in just one day how it's done.

You will learn:

How to put your designs into repeat
How to set up and register a new screen
How to set up metal stops for repeating printed designs
How to screen-print consistently with a partner using large screens
How to heat-set fabrics with a Textile Tunnel Dryer
How to set up a screen-printing table & studio
